A former police chief appears to have avoided disciplinary action despite being caught running a consultancy course while being on sick leave from North Yorkshire Police.
David Collins, was a former assistant chief constable with the force who retired officially in July yet was caught running his event on June 4th at the University of York St John.
Mr Collins had been on sick leave since November. As Mr Collins was no longer a serving police officer it was decided it was not possible to begin formal disciplinary action, the force confirmed that Mr Collins had been paid the statutory entitlement for police officers who are absent from work due to sickness.
